HP Government, Health and Education offerings though Optimal Solutions

Since 1994, Optimal Solutions has been an HP Government, Health and Education partner. These programs are designed to allow qualified institutions and government agencies to procure HP equipment and services schools and government via negotiated rates through HP. Products offered through the following contracts:

  • K12 – REMC (WSCA/NASPO)
  • Higher Ed & Teaching Hospitals – E & I – Multi Educational & Institutional Cooperative
  • Government – Federal – GSA Cooperative for State and Local Government

As part of this program Optimal Solutions provides the following:

Configuration and Ordering Assistance

This service free to qualified education and government agencies. Optimal Solutions has both presales and post sales field engineering experience with most of the HP ProLiant server and HP ProCurve networking products. This is important for the end customer in selecting the right product and configuration. Optimal Solutions also provides guidance in “tweaking” the configuration to best satisfy the requirements of the system(s). Two examples of very low-cost tweaks are 5-year on-site next day coverage (important for servers and core networking components), and management software. Also – if you don’t order power cords, they won’t come! Basically, our people make sure you are all set, or at least make you of options.

A qualified representative will discuss your needed configuration and will then provide you with an order break down. Often in complex configurations, there is dialog back and forth until the final configuration is determined. In addition to HP direct equipment and services, there may be 3rd party pieces and parts that are needed; our people take care of that as well. What the customer ends up with is a Bill of Material with ordering information.

Order Placement and Tracking

This service is free. Once a configuration is determined, the agency issues a Purchase Order made out to HP for the equipment. The order is faxed to Optimal Solutions, checked and then entered into HP’s system. Optimal Solutions tracks the order through the system and alerts the customer of shipping status, hold ups etc.

Billing

The customer is billed directly from HP.

Installation and Engineering Services 

Customers may choose to have Optimal Solutions provide installation and engineering services. Over the years, our engineering staff has worked with well over 1,000 ProLiant servers, several enterprise HP ProCurve 8212zl, as well as enterprise solutions from VMware, Microsoft, Novell, and others.
